A city's utility systems reveal a complex and crucial network of connections and challenges within your home, neighborhood, and beyond, all showcased through this interactive multi-user exhibition powered by ArcGIS.

You, me, and the city of Redding

This creative project had three dynamic group of stakeholders, one, the Turtle Bay Exploration Center as a functional yet immersive interactive exhibit for the public, two, teach and advise on the fundamental goals of the City of Redding’s Water department, and three, the City of Redding's Electric Utility goals and teachings.

Docent of Utility

Additionally, the exhibition required two modes, a docent presentation canvas for groups and and schools to see presentations when specific events were held, as well as a more in-depth self-led user experience with up to 4 guests to interact with. This required a complex prototype phase detailing the user experience in a 2x2 layout and utilizing every pixel inch.

The power of animation

Custom graphical scenarios and elements were required in part of the exhibition's elements. This required close collaboration with animations to add custom visual effects for different statuses of elements in the scene, like a clogged toilet, or a lawn that is overrun with too much pesticides.
