We had the prestigious opportunity to work with Visit Albuquerque, the official destination organization for the city of Albuquerque in New Mexico. Visit Albuquerque is responsible for promoting Albuquerque as a competitive and world-class leisure, meeting, convention and sports destination, and enhancing its public image as a dynamic place to live and work.
An exclusive opportunity was presented to host a feature immersive fine dining experience in New York to promote the gem of experiences and rich culture in New Mexico.
The three course dinner was crafted with Chef Marc Quiñones and Chef Richard Padilla which was paired with exclusive environmental graphics that touched on Native American dancing, the intricacies of Papel Picado, the infamous International Balloon Fiesta that takes place yearly in ABQ, as well as other outdoor, indoor, scenic landscapes, and rich cultural food and art that makes New Mexico home.
A stroke of electricity.
The historic Route 66 has a long history, and one that runs right through Albuquerque, New Mexico. Some of the historic buildings still feature the original neon signage that would welcome visitors near and far, including motor lodges, hotels, restaurants and more. Additionally the project required me to illustrate symbolic elements like prickly pear cacti, chiles, hot air balloons, and the iconic Sandia (watermelon) mountains.

I led the art direction for the creation of a series of intricately detailed, customized vector-based papel picado banners. These banners were designed to be animated and prominently displayed during a key scene of the dinner event.
